Role Overview
As the Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations, leading and developing the sales team, achieving sales targets, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. You will act as a role model for Bankrupt Beds’ values, uphold high standards of merchandising and service, and contribute to the success and reputation of the store.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations

Manage day-to-day retail operations, including opening/closing procedures.

Ensure the store is clean, safe, and well-presented at all times.

Oversee stock levels, replenishment, and inventory controls.

Coordinate delivery schedules and logistics as needed.
Sales & Customer Experience

Drive sales performance to meet and exceed targets and KPIs.

Deliver an exceptional customer service experience across all interactions.

Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and escalations professionally.

Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements.
Leadership & Team Management

Supervise, motivate, and develop the in-store sales team.

Recruit, onboard, and train new staff members.

Create effective schedules, assign tasks, and manage coverage.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching.
Merchandising & Visual Standards

Ensure attractive and commercial product displays that reflect brand standards.

Implement promotional campaigns and merchandising plans.

Monitor and optimise product placement for maximum sales impact.
Administration & Financial Control

Prepare sales reports, track KPIs, and analyse performance data.

Manage cash handling procedures and register reconciliation.

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with policies.
Health & Safety

Enforce health and safety standards for staff and customers.

Ensure compliance with legal and statutory retail obligations.
Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in retail management (ideally in furniture, home goods, or related sectors).

Competency in retail software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office.
